Public safety is a priority.

The Yocha Dehe Fire Department safeguards lives and property by providing fire protection, and technical rescue and paramedic services. Through automatic and mutual aid agreements with other agencies, the Department protects people and communities throughout the Capay Valley, Yolo County and beyond. Formed in 2004, the Department’s mission is to provide the best fire and emergency services possible. The Department has since evolved into a state-of-the-art public service agency. The Yocha Dehe Fire Department is the only Native American fire department to have achieved accreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, first in 2010, then again in 2015 and 2020.
